Go Red Por Tu Corazon
Vestido Rojo
A message from American Heart Association:
Women are strong. We are smart. We solve problems. Women can do anything men can do. And, there are some things we’re even better at – like dying of heart disease and stroke. Like breaking barriers? Go Red! And help break the barrier of heart disease by making heart healthy choices for you and your family!
Latina women play a very important role in the family. They are the gatekeepers for their families’ well-being and health and often put the needs of others before their own. Let’s empower women to take care of their health first so they can be there for their loved ones.
As women, they are at greater risk of heart disease and stroke. It’s not just a man’s disease. Each year, 1 in 3 women die of heart disease and stroke. But we can change that because 80 percent of cardiac events can be prevented with education and lifestyle changes.
Lifestyle changes can be as simple as:
· Exercising together as a family
· Teaching your family and loved ones to embrace good health by together going grocery shopping for healthier foods
· Cooking traditional foods with healthier ingredients
Make healthy living a family affair and create new traditions for your loved ones, empowering future generations to live a healthy lifestyle.
When it comes to beating heart disease and stroke, change can be the cure. Make a change at GoRedForWomen.org or GoRedCorazon.org.
Go Red For Women is about much more than wearing red on National Wear Red Day. It’s about making a change.
Here are a few ways you can make a change:
· Visit GoRedForWomen.org or GoRedCorazon.org to learn how you can reduce your risk of heart disease and stroke—and be sure to tell every woman in your life.
· Encourage your loved ones to take small steps toward healthy lifestyle choices to reduce their risk for heart disease and stroke, too.
· Share “What it means to Go Red” by sharing the following acronym:
· Get Your Numbers: Ask your doctor to check your blood pressure, cholesterol and glucose.
