Help create the new generation of lifesavers!
Sudden cardiac arrest can happen any place, any time. Of the 350,000 people who suffer a cardiac arrest outside of a hospital each year, only about 10% survive; however, immediate hands-only CPR can double, or even triple, survival rates. You have the power to help us increase our community’s rate of bystander CPR. We can do something about this, NOW.
In addition to funding the critical, life-saving, mission of the American Heart Association, all Open Your Heart donations made through the Heart Ball will also fund the placement of CPR in Schools Training Kits at Fort Worth secondary campuses. Together, we will create the next generation of lifesavers.
Every $5,000 raised through our Open Your Heart campaign will fund one CPR in Schools Training Kit. Yes, there is a hard cost to produce each kit, but the placement cost includes much more than just the kit itself. Each $5,000 OYH contribution helps offset the cost of the AHA-funded scientific research behind the development of CPR techniques, the research and development to produce the actual kit and the AHA-facilitated training provided to each campus receiving a kit (we implement a “train-the-trainer” model to ensure that these kits provide more than a one-time impact for schools).
